Day 1: The Giants of Weheragala
04:30 AM: Pick up from hotel (Tissamaharama/Kataragama area) 05:30 AM: Arrival at Galge Gate (Block 5 Entrance). Strategic positioning for early entry. 06:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Morning Expedition: Focus on tracking "Big Tuskers" and the rare Sloth Bear in the morning mist. The light through the tall trees in Block 5 is perfect for moody, atmospheric shots. 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Hot Sit-down Breakfast at the Jeep: A warm, prepared meal served at a designated quiet spot inside the park. 12:00 PM – 02:00 PM: Mid-day Break & Gear Maintenance: Exit to a nearby lodge/hotel near Galge. Use this time to clean lenses and back up RAW files away from the heat and dust 01:30 PM: Hot Sit-down Lunch: A full traditional Sri Lankan Rice & Curry at a local boutique hotel 02:30 PM – 06:00 PM: Golden Hour Session: Moving toward the Weheragala Reservoir. Excellent for capturing elephants against the water and raptors perched on skeletal trees. 06:30 PM: Return to the hotel.

Maximum field time, optimized for light, with proper hot meals at local hotels outside the Galge Gate.

Day 2: Deep Jungle & Predator Tracking
04:30 AM: Early Pick up. Heading back to Block 5 for a second look or exploring the connecting corridors of Block 4. 06:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Predator Focus: Tracking the elusive leopards of the rocky outcrops in the northern sectors. With fewer jeeps, you have a better chance of capturing natural, undisturbed behavior. 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Hot Sit-down Breakfast at the Jeep: Enjoying a freshly prepared breakfast in the wilderness 12:00 PM – 02:00 PM: Mid-day Break: Return to the lodge for a cool-down session and a technical review of the morning’s captures. 01:30 PM: Hot Sit-down Lunch: A grilled meal or light pasta at the hotel to fuel the final leg. 02:30 PM – 06:00 PM: The Final Light: Exploring the riverine forests. Focus on action shots of birds (Crested Serpent Eagles, Fish Eagles) and the sunset over the dam 06:30 PM: Return to the hotel

Day 1: The Heart of the Villus
05:30 AM | The First Light: Arrive at the Hunuwilagama Gate. We aim to enter exactly at 6:00 AM. In Wilpattu, the morning mist over the Villus provides a dream-like quality for wide-angle landscape shots 06:00 AM – 10:30 AM | Morning Predator Tracking: We focus on the Maradanmaduwa and Kumbuk Villu sectors. These areas have high leopard density and open shorelines where predators come to drink in the clear morning light. 10:30 AM | Field Breakfast: A hot, sit-down breakfast served at the jeep near a scenic villu 11:30 AM – 01:30 PM | Mid-Day Reset: We exit the park to escape the harsh overhead sun. Return to a nearby resort for Gear Maintenance, sensor cleaning, and a refreshing break 01:30 PM | Authentic Hot Lunch: A traditional Sri Lankan "Rice & Curry" lunch at the hotel 02:30 PM – 06:00 PM | The Bear Shift: Re-entry. We shift focus to Palu Villu, a hotspot for Sloth Bears, especially during the fruiting season. The late afternoon light hitting the white sand rims of the lakes is a photographer's dream 06:30 PM | Evening Return: Back to the hotel to review your "keepers."

Day 2: The Remote Western Frontier
05:30 AM | Deep Forest Strike: We head deeper into the park toward the Thalawila or Kokkare Villu areas. These remote spots offer complete silence—ideal for capturing high-action bird photography (Crested Serpent Eagles, Fish Eagles) 06:00 AM – 10:30 AM | Behavioral Mastery: We look for undisturbed behavior. In Wilpattu, leopards are known to walk long distances on the main tracks; we’ll position the jeep to capture that perfect "head-on" walking shot 10:30 AM | Hot Breakfast at the Jeep: One final meal in the wild, surrounded by the jungle's orchestra 11:30 AM – 01:30 PM | Break & Technical Review: Final gear check and a quick nap to recharge for the last push 01:30 PM | Hot Grilled Lunch: A fresh, light meal before the final evening session 02:30 PM – 06:00 PM | The Final Light: We spend the last hours at the open plains, capturing the sunset silhouettes of elephants and deer against the water 06:30 PM | Farewell: Return to the hotel.
